Here are the Forest Preserve District of Will County programs for the week of March 2. Online registration is available on the Event Calendar at ReconnectWithNature.org.

Women of Natural History: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, Hidden Oaks Nature Center, Bolingbrook. Discover the women whose observations reshaped our understanding of the natural world during this illustrated talk led by guest speaker Kim White. The program explores figures ranging from Queen Hatshepsut and her botanical collections to paleontologist Mary Anning and biologist Rachel Carson. Ages 16 or older; free. Register by Wednesday, March 4.

Trail Club: March at Lake Renwick: 9-10 a.m. Saturdays, March 7, 14, 21 and 28, Lake Renwick Preserve – Turtle Lake Access, Plainfield. Wrap up the winter walking series with a brisk group hike featuring two loops around Turtle Lake totaling 2.2 miles. Trail Club promotes fitness and community, and participants who attend at least three sessions this season earn a Trail Club sticker. All ages; free.

Living History Encounter – Survival Food: noon-3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, Isle a la Cache Museum, Romeoville. Step into the Illinois Country of 1750 and learn how early residents prepared and preserved food to survive late-winter scarcity. Costumed interpreters demonstrate period cooking techniques, tools and daily life inside the Trader’s Cabin. All ages; free.
