Plainfield Man Arrested after Wife and Grandchild Struck by Car
Brandon White (46, Plainfield) was arrested, processed, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery, Reckless Conduct (2 Counts), and Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.
On March 1, 2025, at 10:08 p.m., Officers responded to a residence in the 5500 block of Maha Street for a report of a structure fire and a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers observed heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the residence.
The Joliet Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.
Officers learned that following a disturbance at a gathering at a different location, White left the gathering in the family vehicle, leaving his wife and children behind. Later, White’s wife and children arrived back at their residence on Maha Street via rideshare service and observed smoke coming from the second floor of their home.
While they were standing in the driveway, it is alleged that White arrived and drove a Chevrolet Malibu into the driveway and intentionally struck his wife with the vehicle while she was holding her three-year-old grandson.
It is alleged White then drove across the lawn and struck an unoccupied vehicle parked in a nearby driveway before then fleeing the scene in the vehicle.
The female and child were evaluated by Joliet Fire Department paramedics but were not injured.
White was placed into custody without incident during a traffic stop later in the evening near Caton Farm Road and Weber Road after being located by Joliet Officers.
The fire remains under investigation.
