Farmers Weekly Review

Kathy Brockett shares this photo of Patrick Rowan and Nellie Donovan Rowan at the farm in Troy Township near Bird’s Creek circa 1915. Son, Hugh Hamilton Rowan, her grandfather, wanted no part of farming and became a Joliet cop and prison guard at the Old Joliet Prison. Size was on his side! His brother Walter left the area, and his brother John died of TB at age 25.
