Skeletal Remains Found in Mokena Belong to Missing Joliet Man
Joliet Police Detectives were notified on March 27, 2026, by the Will County Coroner’s Office that skeletal remains discovered on March 24, 2026, at approximately 4:05 p.m. in a field near Townline Road and Oakwood Drive in Mokena have been positively identified as Terhan F. Gordon, of Joliet, following forensic analysis.
Mr. Gordon was originally reported missing to the Joliet Police Department by family members on June 29, 2025.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Gordon’s death is now being conducted by the Will County Sheriff’s Office. The final cause and manner of death remain under investigation by the Will County Coroner’s Office.
“The Joliet Police Department extends our deepest condolences to Mr. Gordon’s loved ones during this difficult time,” said Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans in a press release
“Our detectives remain committed to working in coordination with the Will County Sheriff’s Office and the Will County Coroner’s Office as the investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Mr. Gordon.”
