Jones

On January 3, 2026, at 4:18 p.m., Officers responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Marble Street for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, Officers learned that Demetrius Greene (41, Joliet) and Stacey Jones (46, Joliet) entered the residence under the pretense of retrieving a personal item.
Once inside, it is alleged that Greene and Jones began placing collectible Funko Pop figurines into garbage bags, despite being told by the male tenant to stop and leave. Officers learned the items did not belong to either Greene or Jones.
When the tenant attempted to prevent the suspects from leaving the apartment with the property, Greene allegedly pushed him against a table. Greene and Jones then left the residence using a rideshare service.
Officers later located the rideshare vehicle in the 1700 block of North Larkin Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. Greene and Jones were seated in the rear of the vehicle, where officers recovered the stolen figurines. The items were estimated to have a value of approximately $5,000. Officers learned that Greene was on pre-trial release from a past criminal charge.
Greene was charged with Robbery and Violation of Pre-trial Release. Jones was charged with Residential Burglary. Both were processed at the Joliet Police Department. Greene was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, while Jones was released on a notice to appear in court.
