Under bill, state highway cameras could be used to investigate human trafficking

On September 22, 2025, at 12:45 a.m., Officers responded to the 0-50 block of North Broadway Street for a report of two people shot.

Upon arrival, Officers located a 36-year-old male and a 44-year-old male that had been shot near the driveway of 5 North Broadway Street. The 36-year-old male had sustained two gunshot wounds to the right leg and the 44-year-old male had been shot in the right ankle.

Officers rendered medical assistance until paramedics arrived. Both shooting victims were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department. The shooting injuries to both victims are considered non-life threatening.

It is believed that both victims were shot by a subject shooting from a passing motorcycle. Both victims were shot while outside of the apartment building. Identification of the suspect and a motive for the shooting remain under investigation. Officers recovered spent shell casings during a canvass of the area.
