On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Will County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Oscar Avenue in Joliet Township following a report of gunfire.

Upon arrival, deputies observed approximately four bullet holes in the front exterior wall of a residence. The home was occupied at the time, but fortunately, none of the residents on scene were injured. Occupants told investigators they were awakened by the sound of multiple gunshots outside the home and called 911.

Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and recovered approximately twenty-four 9mm shell casings in the area.

As part of the ongoing investigation, deputies contacted area hospitals and discovered that a male subject had arrived at Ascension Saint Joseph – Joliet with a gunshot wound to the hand. The individual has not cooperated with investigators at this time.
