Local Administrative Boundary Changes in Will County
The Will/Cook County Farm Service Agency (FSA) is seeking public comment regarding a proposed realignment of the voting area used to elect the FSA County Committees. This change is due to Cook and Will County becoming separate voting jurisdictions, each having their own boundaries. These voting areas, otherwise known as Local Administrative Areas (LAAs), elect one representative each year to serve on the FSA County Committee. The County Committee plays a significant role in the operations of the local FSA Office. The County Committee members provide determinations regarding producer eligibility, commodity price support loans, conservation payments, FSA disaster programs, and other important matters. The pending changes are specific to the Will County LAAs at this time. The public comment period will run through July 18, 2023. Persons having an interest in these matters are invited to make their views known at this time.
