July 14 Forum Set on Illinois American Water Rate Increase
The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) is holding a public forum on Illinois American Water general rate increases from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Village of Bolingbrook Community Center, Room A, 201 Canterbury Lane, Bolingbrook.
Verbal and written comments from consumers will be accepted by the ICC Administrative Law Judge presiding over the case, and ICC staff will be available for Q&A. Illinois American Water will share a brief presentation on its rate case at the start of the forum.
Impacted customers are not required to attend the in-person forum to submit a comment. Those unable to attend may submit comments via the ICC website or by calling our Consumer Services Division at 1-800-524-0795, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Illinois American Water filed its general rate increase petition with the ICC in January 2026 to approve updated water and sewer rates. A rate case is a formal regulatory process designed to ensure utilities receive the necessary funds to provide safe and reliable utility service at a reasonable cost to ratepayers.
Customers struggling to pay their water bills are encouraged to check eligibility for Illinois American Water’s low-income discount and customer assistance programs.
