Illinois 50 Bridge Repairs in Monee Begin June 8
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a project to repair the bridge that carries Illinois 50 (Governors Highway) over the Canadian National railroad, south of Egyptian Trail, in Monee, will begin, weather permitting, Monday, June 8.
To complete the work, Illinois 50 will be reduced from two lanes to one in both directions between Egyptian Trail and Watson Cutoff.
The $1.2 million project, which consists of joint replacement, substructure repairs and installing a new deck overlay, is anticipated to be completed in December.
Expect delays and allow extra time for trips through this area. Alternate routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
