IDOT Repairs Coming to a Road Near You
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced a list of local road and bridge projects:
Francis Road/I-80 Bridge Replacement begins April 27
To complete the work, Francis Road will be fully closed between Silver Cross Boulevard and Gordon Street. A detour will direct traffic to Cedar Road, U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Gougar Road. The public also should expect occasional overnight lane closures on I-80 at Francis Road. ​
The $5.3 million project is anticipated to be completed in December.
The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Alternate routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
LaGrange Road resurfacing begins May 1
Patching and resurfacing of LaGrange Road (U.S. 45) from Sager Road/Frankfort Main to Colorado Avenue in Frankfort will require intermittent daytime lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Friday, May 1. ​
The $3.2 million project, which consists of resurfacing the 1.6-mile stretch of LaGrange Road and constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, is anticipated to be completed in December. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.
Illinois 50 in Peotone resurfacing begins May 1
Patching and resurfacing of Illinois 50 between Beecher and Wilmington roads in Peotone will require intermittent daytime lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Friday, May 1. ​
The $1.3 million project, which consists of resurfacing the 1.2-mile stretch of Illinois 50, shoulder widening and constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, is anticipated to be completed in September. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.

Channahon Road in Joliet resurfacing begins May 4
Patching and resurfacing of Channahon Road (U.S. 6) from Terry Drive to Larkin Avenue (Illinois 7) in Joliet will require intermittent daytime lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Monday, May 4. ​
The $2 million project is anticipated to be completed in August. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.
