Kathy Forsythe of Manhattan shares this photo from around 1912 of a teacher picking up her students for class at Forsythe School on Old Chicago Road, now part of the Arsenal property. Her dad, David Forsythe, is the boy standing on the left, and his brother, Ray, is the little boy in front of the buggy. During the school year, the teacher boarded with her dad’s family, which already included seven children, plus a hired girl and a hired man.
