Will County Fair 2024 Time for Fun, Farm and Families
The 2024 Will County Fair will open Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Will County Fairgrounds on Peotone-Wilmington Road, just west of Route 50, and will run through Sunday, Aug. 25.
The fairgrounds will open to the public on Wednesday at 10 a.m., and Thursday through Sunday at 8 a.m. The carnival begins at 4 p.m. on Wednesday – Family Dollar Day. Gate admission is $1 for ages 10 and over, and all rides are $1, with all rides taking one ticket.
The carnival features Luehrs’ Ideal Rides, plus games, booths and food.
The 13th annual Children’s Ping Pong Prize Drop will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday on the track, for ages 3 to 5, 6-to-8, and 9-to-11. Registration is at 4 p.m. Touch A Truck on the track will be held from 4-6 p.m.
“All Star Music Machine” will appear nightly in the beer garden. Kids will be delighted when they encounter lovable “Alford E. Gator,” who drives his Tiny Swamp House throughout the grounds. He will be on hand to talk to fairgoers each day. A daily game show is new at the fair.
On Thursday, “Senior Citizen and Veterans Day,” a discounted $3 admission rate is offered to seniors and veterans. Regular gate admission is $6 per person for those 10 years of age and older, or free for children 9 and under.
The carnival will open on Thursday at 4 p.m., with a “Ride-A-Thon Night” held until closing. Fair patrons may purchase unlimited ride wristbands for $35 per person.
The DeJong Equipment I.T.P.A. tractor pull is the featured event Thursday, with the show at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15. Pit passes will be available on the track for people 16 and older at $20 per person. On Friday, the fair opens at 8 a.m. Carnival rides begin at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday carnival rides begin at noon. All ride times are scheduled as “weather permitting” and will not operate if weather conditions pose any threat.
The Pearl Chrysler Jeep Dodge Monster Truck Show will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23. The pit party will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. All pre-purchased grandstand admission is $28 for 10 and over, $18 for 9 and under, and includes pit party.
Day of show grandstand admission is $30 for 10 and over, $20 for 9 and under. Pit party passes are $5 per person for any age. A Power Wheels race/derby will be help at approximately 8 p.m. during the Monster Truck Show intermission.
Saturday’s grandstand line up will start at 1 p.m. with the A-Affordable Scramble Race and derby; grandstand admission is $15, and pit passes are for ages 16 and over only are $20. The Dralle Chevrolet Demolition Derby will follow at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15, and pit passes for ages 16 & over only are $20.
4CAST will appear in the Beer Garden on Thursday, while Nashville Electric is on hand Friday, Any Given Weekend plays Saturday, with Mid-Life Crisis on Sunday.
The Kids Pedal Tractor Pull is on Saturday at 1 p.m., with registration at noon, on the pavement by the horse barn. The event is sponsored by the Will County Farm Bureau Young Farmers Association. Prizes will be awarded. Saturday, Aug. 24.
WVLI “The Valley” will hold its sock hop in the beer garden entertainment tent from 3 to 4:30 p.m., while the Will County 4-H livestock auction will be in the livestock show ring at 5:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the baby show, for babies 6-to-36 months, begins at 1:30 p.m. Baby show entries must be received by 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. A $1 entry fee must accompany each entry, along with a birth certificate or copy from the county of birth. Souvenir certificates from the hospital are not accepted.
The International Pro Rodeo Association (IPRA) championship rodeo competitions will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15.
