Farm Days Gone By

Judy Brown of Lockport dug up this oldie but goodie from 1895, taken at her grandfather, Charles Burkhardt's, farm in Goodfarm Township in Grundy County. Still in the afterglow of the recent 62nd annual Threshermen's Show, this picture shows "A.J.'s Threshing Outfit," with A.J. being Charles' father. A.J. is on the engine, at left, with Frank Jones standing. To the right, a Mr. Jensen (I can't read his first name) is manning the water wagon and the team of horses.
