Londus Bettenhausen, 91, Manhattan

Londus George Bettenhausen, age 91 of Manhattan, passed away on June 20, with his loving family at his side.
Londus is survived by his devoted wife Elsie (nee Bazzani) Bettenhausen of 53 years; his son, Steve (Susie) Bettenhausen; and grandchildren, Jacob and Sara Bettenhausen.
Londus was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Sadie (nee Subbert) Bettenhausen, his sister Muriel and brother-in-law Steve Kokas.
Londus graduated from Peotone High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict following his graduation. He worked on the family farm his whole life and had a passion for tractors and farming. Along with their own farm, he contributed to many surrounding farms and always lent a helping hand to others in need. He worked for Farm Services (F.S) in the Will and DuPage County branches as well, where he sold and delivered propane and propane accessories.
Londus loved collecting coins and toy tractors, and he enjoyed watching Westerns and game shows with Elsie. He was proud to tend their land between gardening and mowing. He was also a long-time member of the Manhattan United Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Londus took place on Friday, June 28, at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Interment was held the following day, Saturday, June 29, at Green Garden Green View Cemetery.
