County’s Largest Career Expo in Romeoville Wednesday
The Will County Workforce Services Division will be hosting their second-annual “Pathways to Professions Expo,” introducing Will County high school juniors and seniors to a wide variety of industry and career pathways available to them after graduation.
The event will be held Wednesday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for (for high school students only, and from 2:30 to 5 p.m. (for the general public), at the Romeoville Athletic & Event Center, 55 Phelps Drive, Romeoville.
The Pathways to Professions Expo features a heavy interactive element to vendor booths. Businesses are encouraged to have an activity students can “get their hands dirty” and experience what it’s like to perform one of their career path’s job functions. Last year’s event featured bricklaying, VR experiences, and fun science experiments as just some of the activities at the booths.
The Will County Workforce Services Division, along with over 100 businesses, organizations, and government entities tabling to have interactive examples of what it means to work in their field. More than 800 high school students from Will County attending as a SIP day, and the general public can visit the businesses in the afternoon.
