Grau named new Director of School Services for UCP-Center for Disability Services

JOLIET – UCP-Center for Disability Services Executive Director Brian Patel has announced Jennifer Grau as the new Director of School Services for the Melvin J Larson School.
Grau has extensive experience in leading special education programs. She most recently worked
as the Director of Diverse Learning at Moving Everest Charter School in Chicago.
Patel explains Grau was hired due to her background special education, including implementation of new programs and initiatives.
“Jennifer brings a wide range of skills and knowledge in the special education field,” said Patel. “With her teaching experience and being an accomplished educational leader, Jennifer is a great addition to our school.”
In addition to her teaching experience, Grau is also familiar with promoting staff and new program development. Grau holds three Masters degrees: two in Education from DePaul University and the American College of Education and one in Business Administration from Tulane University; as well as a Certificate of Nonprofit Management from the Kellogg School of Management. She has more than 18 years’ experience in the special education field.
“I am looking forward to working with the school team to help our students reach their fullest potential.” Grau said.
United Cerebral Palsy-Center for Disability Services has been serving children and adults with significant developmental delays for nearly 70 years. The agency operates a year-round school for children ages three to 21, who cannot be served by their home school district and adult day services for residents of Will County. The agency also operates an in-home respite and home-based service program in five counties of Southern Illinois.
