SWCD Hosting July 16 Tour of Deutsche Farms
The Will-South Cook Soil and Water Conservation District is proud to announce that the Deutsche Family will receive the SWCD’s 2025 Conservation Farm Family Award.
Deutsche Farms is operated by Darren and Kyle Deutsche of Crete. Darren and Kyle are the fifth generation to operate the farm, which traces its history back to 1847.
The SWCD will host a tour of Deutsche Farms on Wednesday July 16, 2025. The event will begin at 9 a.m., with lunch provided after the tour.
Several conservation practices will be showcased, including terraces, filter strips, waterways, structures and more!
Woodland and drainage management practices will also be discussed. The farm is located at 2404 W. Elms Court Lane, Crete.
