Three People Shot, One in Serious Condition

On June 12, 2025, at 9:47 p.m., Officers responded to Riverwalk Homes Apartments in the 300 block of North Broadway Street for a report of a large group gathered outside of the apartment buildings causing a disturbance.
Officers overheard gunfire coming from the area of the Broadway Street entrance of Riverwalk Homes as they arrived in the area. Upon entry into the complex, Officers discovered a 30-year male with gunshot wounds to both legs.
Officers immediately rendered medical aid until arrival of Joliet Fire Department paramedics.
Officers discovered and rendered medical aid to two additional gunshot victims, a 32-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right leg and a 45-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the left leg. All three victims were transported to area hospitals by the Joliet Fire Department.
The 30-year-old victim was listed in serious condition with the other two victims believed to be in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation of this isolated incident indicates that two of the injured males are alleged to have been actively involved in the shooting. Both are currently under police guard at
area hospitals.
A firearm was recovered near the scene, and Detectives are reviewing
surveillance video and evaluating additional evidence. Two vehicles were also reported damaged by gunfire during the incident. Spent shell casings were recovered from the scene.
