On June 3, 2025, 32-year-old Trevon L. Gunn of Crete, Illinois, was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF), which includes members of the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives from the Crete Police Department allege that between 2023 and 2025, Gunn sexually assaulted a juvenile under the age of 13. Based on their investigation, the Crete Police Department requested assistance from the USMS/GLRFTF in locating and apprehending Gunn.
Through coordinated investigative efforts, Gunn was located at a residence in the 3000 block of Sherwood Avenue in Markham, Illinois. Surveillance units observed Gunn entering the home. Task force members then approached the residence, announced their presence, and safely took Gunn into custody without incident.
Gunn was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he is being held on the following initial charges:
  • Two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Victim Under 13
  • One count of Criminal Sexual Assault of a Victim Aged 13–17
  • One count of Criminal Sexual Assault of a Family Member Under 18
“Today, another dangerous fugitive is off the streets thanks to the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies,” said Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley.
“I want to thank the United States Marshals Service and the Crete Police Department for their partnership in safely apprehending this individual so he can face the serious and disturbing charges brought forth by investigators.”
