11-Year-old Boy Critically Injured in Dirt Bike Crash

On May 25, 2025, at 6:23 p.m., Joliet Police Officers responded to the 5800 block of Arborn Gate Drive for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.
A preliminary investigation of the crash determined the following: It is believed that an 11-year-old male was operating a Razor electric dirt bike westbound in the 5800 block of Arbor Gate Drive on the sidewalk. The Razor then entered the roadway from a driveway and collided into a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a male (20, Plainfield) that was eastbound in the 5800 block of Arbor Gate Drive.
The 11-year-old male was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department with serious injuries. He was later airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for further treatment of his injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured.
The roadway was closed for a significant period of time while traffic investigators reconstructed the crash.
