Bonnie L. (Eckhoff) Borms, 71, Peotone

Bonnie L. Borms (nee Eckhoff) of Peotone, who was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 2, at the age of 71.
Bonnie was born on January 10, 1954, in Joliet, to Norman and Ella (Bruder) Eckhoff. Bonnie was a graduate of Manteno High School.
Bonnie was very involved in 4-H and had passion and success in showing cattle. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid baker, known for her amazing cake decorating skills.
For the past 15 years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Papineau & Chebanse Grain Elevator. She also served as a superintendent of the Fine Arts Building at the Will County Fair. Bonnie especially loved to watch and cheer on her grandsons travel baseball. She attended all their games, either in person or watching them on a livestream.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Jeremy Borms of Peotone; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Tom Durso of Schaumburg,; her grandsons, Zach and Jacob Durso; her granddaughter, Jillian Borms; 2 brothers, Jeff (Gayle) Eckhoff and Jerry Eckhoff, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jason Borms on September 27, 2024; and her brother, David Eckhoff.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, from 3-7 p.m., with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
