Teen Shot at on Black Road, Police Investigating Shots Fired Incidents

Massey’s death underscores state delay in launching mental health response program

On May 8, 2025, at 2:52 p.m., Officers responded to the 1700 block of Black Road for a report of shots fired. It was reported to Officers that a 14-year-old male was shot at while walking in the area.
It is believed that the gunfire came from the passenger seat of a passing vehicle that was eastbound on Black Road.

During a canvass of the area, it was discovered that two vehicles and a garage door in the 1700 block of Black Road had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

On May 8, 2025, at 10:47 p.m., Officers responded to the 700 block of Henry Street for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, Officers located nearly 20 spent shell casings in the street. Officers conducted a canvass of the area and were unable to locate any persons or property that had been struck by the gunfire.
