Frankfort Township Domestic Disturbance Leads to Arrest

Massey’s death underscores state delay in launching mental health response program

On May 2, 2025, at approximately 6:27 p.m., Will County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence in the 7200 block of W. Matthews Drive in Frankfort Township.

Upon arrival, deputies were unable to establish contact with the individuals inside the home. Concerned for the safety of those inside, deputies—assisted by officers from the Frankfort Police Department—forced entry through a barricaded front door.

Inside the residence, two individuals were located. A 30 year old male was taken into custody and has been initially charged with Domestic Battery and Unlawful Restraint, pending formal charges. Both the 30-year-old male and a 31-year-old female victim were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

Due to the hazardous living conditions observed within the home, Will County Land Use officials have deemed the residence uninhabitable. Will County Animal Control responded to the scene and removed two pets from the property for their safety and care.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Frankfort Police Department, Will County Animal Control, Will County Land Use, and the Frankfort Fire Department for their coordinated assistance during this incident.
