No Injuries in Plainfield House Fire

Plainfield, Il – at approximately 6:12p.m. on Sunday April 27, 2025, the Western Will County Communication Center (WESCOM) received a 911 call stating there was a fire in a single-family home in the 16500 block of Lewood Drive in Plainfield.
The first arriving fire units arrived and found heavy smoke conditions with fire extending from the rear of the garage up the side of the home, into the second floor and attic. Firefighters quickly deployed several hose lines and started to extinguish the fire. The family who was home at the time was able to escape
safely and was not injured. Commonwealth Edison and NICOR were called to the scene to secure the
utilities. The fire remains under investigation by the Plainfield Fire Protection District Fire Investigators.
Damage to the home is estimated to be approximately $150,000.
The Plainfield Fire Protection District was assisted on the scene by the Lockport Fire Protection District,
Troy Fire Protection District, and Joliet Fire Department. The Plainfield Police and Plainfield PEMA also assisted at the scene.
