Peotone FFA Members Recognized as Top 5 in State

Autumn Regal was selected as the State FFA Proficiency Winner in Service-Learning. Kolten Koehn and Charlotte Postma were also recognized as being named to the top five finalists in their respective areas in Illinois FFA.
Autumn Regal is a member of the Peotone FFA Chapter of the Illinois Association FFA. Illinois FFA recognizes students in 48 different areas based on their work-based learning, also known as Supervised Agricultural Experiences or SAE.
FFA members who demonstrate outstanding agricultural skills and competencies through record keeping, leadership, and scholastic achievement may be considered for this award. SAEs allow students to learn by doing by either owning and operating an agricultural business, working or serving an internship at an agriculture-based business or conducting an agriculture-based scientific experiment and reporting results.
Autumn was selected as the State Winner by a committee of agriculture industry representatives and teachers knowledgeable in this work-based area. Autumn is the daughter of Jeffrey and Dolores Regal from Peotone. Receiving this honor now makes Autumn eligible to compete in the National FFA Proficiency Awards Selection process this summer.
Autumn has been involved in the following other agriculture education and FFA activities: Will County Ag Expo, Food Science CDE, Agronomy CDE, Women Changing the Face of Agriculture and more.
Kolten Koehn was selected as the State FFA Runner Up in Supervised Occupational Experience — Manufacturing, Engineering, & Trades.
Kolten was selected as the State Runner-Up after being named the District 2 Winner by a committee of agriculture industry representatives and teachers knowledgeable in this work-based area. Kolten is the son of Kevin & Jenny Koehn from Peotone.
Kolten has been involved in the following other agriculture education and FFA activities: Parliamentary Procedure LDE, Meats Evaluation CDE, Peotone FFA Plow for a Cause, Meals of Hope Food Packing and more.
Charlotte Postma was selected as the District 2 Winner and Top 5 FFA Member in the State in Equine Science Placement. Charlotte was selected as the State Top 5 Finalist after being named the District 2 Winner by a committee of agriculture industry representatives and teachers knowledgeable in this work-based area. Charlotte is the daughter of Jason & Christie Postma from Peotone. Charlotte has been involved in the following other agriculture education and FFA activities: Horticulture CDE, Conduct of Chapter Meetings LDE, Horse Evaluation CDE, Wreaths Across Peotone, and more.
Abby Jacobs-Cowger and Dakota Cowger are the agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor at Peotone High School.
Autumn, Kolten and Charlotte will receive plaques for their accomplishments. These plaques are made possible by gifts by individuals, businesses, corporations and organizations through the Illinois Foundation FFA.
