Channahon Unveils Revitalized Brand Identity

The Village of Channahon has officially launched its new brand identity, marking a significant step forward in modernizing and unifying the community’s visual representation with an easily recognizable symbol and tagline.
The rebranding effort, developed in partnership with a5 Branding & Digital, was guided by extensive community input, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups, according to a release from the village.
This feedback shaped a design that reflects Channahon’s defining characteristics – its natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and strong sense of connectivity.
The new logo incorporates colors inspired by the village’s landscape, elements mimicking the confluence of both rivers and people in town, and a prominent “C” as the central focus uniting all elements. Beyond the logo, the comprehensive rebranding includes updated materials such as business cards, letterheads, signage, and vehicle decals, ensuring a consistent and recognizable identity across all platforms.
“This rebranding is more than just a new logo; it represents Channahon’s commitment to growth and unity,” said Village President Missey Moorman Schumacher in the release.
“Moving forward, we’re going to see a Channahon that feels unified, modern and full of possibility. This isn’t just a new logo – it’s a celebration of who we are and where we’re headed.
“When people hear Channahon I want them to think it’s alive. It’s a thriving community, with an abundance of natural and recreational opportunities and people who care about each other.”
The new brand was formally adopted by the Board of Trustees at the March 3, Board Meeting. During that meeting, members of the Channahon Junior High School Student Council, who were in attendance and participating in the meeting for Job Shadow Day, were able to share their opinions on the logo options, colors, and tagline.
“The input from the student council members had a tremendous impact on the final logo decision,” continued Schumacher.
“During our conversations with them about it, they echoed a number of points that the process had revealed: how the bold colors, particularly green, reflect the vibrancy of our community, the cohesiveness of the lines intersecting and how representative that is of our town, and how this logo ultimately made them feel proud of and inspired by Channahon.
“It was a fantastic way to get the youth and future of our town involved and have their voices heard.”
The village officially unveiled the new branding at the State of the Village Address on April 10, coinciding with updates to the village’s website and digital presence.
Village officials say this refreshed identity not only enhances Channahon’s image but also reinforces the village’s commitment to progress while honoring its rich history and natural surroundings.
