La Grange Road bridge over Hickory Creek repairs begin April 28
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a project to repair the bridge carrying La Grange Road (U.S. 45) over Hickory Creek in Frankfort will begin, weather permitting, Monday, April 28.
To complete the work, La Grange Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction over the bridge. The public also should expect various lane shifts on both sides of La Grange Road approaching the bridge throughout the project.
The $1.4 million project, which consists of repairing the bridge deck, replacing expansion joints and installing a new deck overlay, is anticipated to be completed in September.
The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Alternative routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
