Search for Wildflowers, Tour Riverview Farm

Where the Wildflowers Are: 6-7 p.m. Thursday, April 17 – Hidden Oaks Nature Center, Bolingbrook. Take a guided hike to find wildflowers like trout lily and Dutchman’s breeches. Learn their names, historical uses and folklore. Return each month to see new blooms or explore other preserves for the full wildflower story. Ages 10 or older; free. Register by Wednesday, April 16.
Where the Wildflowers Are: 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, April 19 – Raccoon Grove Nature Preserve, Monee Township. Discover wildflowers such as anemone, trillium and hepatica on a guided hike. Learn about their history and lore. Visit monthly to see the seasonal changes or explore multiple preserves for a broader experience. Ages 10 or older; free. Register by Wednesday, April 16.
Riverview Farmstead Tour: Saturday, April 19 – Riverview Farmstead Preserve. Step back in time with a naturalist and explore the Clow family’s 19th-century farmstead. Tour historic buildings and hear stories of farm life. Two sessions: 10:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 2:30 p.m. Ages 12 or older; free. Register by Thursday, April 17.
