Farm Days Gone By

Dick Attaway shares this photo of his grandfather, Fred Attaway, on the left with an unknown associate on what he believes was his Model T one ton truck he used to collect milk from farms in the Jackson Township area. He delivered the milk to Weber's Dairy on West Jefferson Street in Joliet. He did this for many years and passed the route onto his son Paul. Dick remember as a kid going on ride-alongs with uncle Paul on the milk route in a bit newer truck. His grandfather's farm was located near the northeast corner of Route 53 (old Route 66) and Manhattan Road intersection.
