On March 12, 2025 members of 100+ Women Who Care serving Will County had their “big check” presentation donating $8,850 to the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC).

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow, along with Will County CAC executive director Lisa Morel Las, assistant director Jaclyn Lundquist and family advocate Fernanda Mrugala were presented the checks by members of 100+ WWC of Will County.

The Will County CAC is a child-focused, coordinated response center that provides hope, healing and justice for children who have endured severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence.

State’s Attorney Glasgow established the CAC in 1995 to improve the integrity of all investigations into allegations of child sexual abuse, while providing hope, healing and justice for the children and their families.

“Every day the Will County CAC advocates, forensic interviewers, and trauma therapists help children who have lived through terrible abuse, reclaim their childhood,” explained Glasgow, in a press release.

“They rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and organizations such as the 100+ Women Who Care, to provide our critical services at no charge to children and non-offending family members.”

100+ Women Who Care of Will County is excited to be donating to the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center and helping our local children.

Member Trisha Kiwior said, “At the 100+ Women Who Care meeting, I was honored to present the hope, healing, and justice that this center brings for abused children. I was so impressed by every person I met and their commitment to be an advocate to Will County’s children.”

Being a member of 100+ Women Who Cares allows you to nominate local charities like the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center. At each of the quarterly meetings 100+ WWC members nominate charities, three are chosen at random, and after a brief presentation, the members vote on which charity to support.

Once the winning charity is announced, everyone writes a $100 check, on the spot, directly to that charity. Teams of 2 or 4 are welcome to join.

100+ Women Who Care of Will County’s next meeting is April 8, 2025 from 6:00-7:00 at Coom’s Corner. For more information, please go to the web site at www.100wwc-will.org or visit us on Facebook.
