Monee Police Investigating Stabbing

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Monee Police responded to a call for assistance on Ridgeland Avenue near Monee Manhattan Road.
The caller advised that a female was lying in the ditch bleeding, and another subject was armed with scissors.
Upon arrival, Officers found an injured female on the ground and a male subject being held by another male subject. Officers secured the male subject and immediately provided aid to the female until Paramedics arrived.
Securing the scene, it was determined that a rolling domestic between the male and female became physical on Monee Manhattan Road.
As the couple were turning north onto Ridgeland Avenue, the female attempted to leave the car and was attacked by the male driver. The car came to a stop, and the male chased the woman into the ditch attacking her and taking her to the ground.
A witness traveling behind the couple saw what was happening and tackled mthe male subject, holding him until Police arrived. A pair of scissors was recovered on scene.
Medical determined that the 48-year-old Schaumburg woman had been stabbed multiple times. She was transported to Franciscan and then transferred to
Stroger. Injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Lenear Harris, age 57, with a last-known address in Beach Park, Illinois, was being mheld at Will County. The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery and Battery.
More charges are under consideration at this time.
The victim told Investigators that things could have been much worse if not for the good Samaritan who stopped and assisted.
The 32-year-old Lansing man is credited by Investigators with ending the attack.
