Arrest Made in 2023 Gardner Street Shooting
Jerell Barber (31, Joliet) was arrested, processed, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by Felon (2 Counts).
While conducting an extensive investigation into the March 11, 2023, shooting that occurred in the 900 block of Gardner Street, Joliet Police Detectives identified Barber as a suspect involved
in this shooting. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Barber for the above listed charges on February 11, 2025.
Barber was taken into custody by members of the US Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force on February 21, 2025. Barber was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
This case remains under investigation.
