Meet Frankfort's New K-9 Officer in Training

The Village of Frankfort Police Department is excited to announce the addition of a new K-9 officer, who is currently undergoing specialized training to join the force.

This soon to be highly trained K-9 will enhance law enforcement efforts, assist in investigations, and further the department’s commitment to public safety.

The new K-9, named Pax, is a Labrador Retriever and is currently in an intensive training program focused on tracking and narcotics detection. Upon completion, the K-9 and its handler, Officer Krupa, will serve as an asset in locating missing people, detecting illegal substances, and attending community events.

“We are thrilled to welcome our new K-9,” said Mayor Keith Ogle in a press release. “While still in training, this addition will soon play a crucial role in both crime prevention and community engagement.”

Once training is complete, the new K-9 will be introduced to the community and will participate in public safety initiatives, school visits, and demonstrations to strengthen the relationship between the police department and residents.

The Frankfort Police Department extends its gratitude to Will County State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow for their sponsorship and support in making this program possible. More updates on K-9 Pax’s progress and a formal introduction event will be announced in the coming months.
