Joliet Police Respond to Shots Fired Incidents

Massey’s death underscores state delay in launching mental health response program

Joliet Police are asking for the public’s help regarding two incidents of shots fire in separate neighborhoods.

On February 9, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of Campbell Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers discovered that a residence in the area had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire.

The residence was occupied at the time of the shooting; however, no injuries were reported. Following a canvass of the neighborhood, Officers discovered over 20 spent shell casings in the area.

On February 11, 2025, at 2:28 a.m., Officers responded to the area of Division Street and North Broadway Street for a report of shots fired.

Officers arrived and located spent shell casings in an alleyway behind the 400 block of North Broadway. Officers conducted a canvass of the area and found nothing to be struck by gunfire.
