Manhattan Seeks Stakeholder Input on Downtown Design

The Village of Manhattan invites residents and stakeholders to join the Farnsworth Group, their
consultants, for a stakeholder input event regarding the Downtown Architectural Design Guidelines. The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Manhattan Township Building, 230 Wabash St., Manhattan.
Two sessions will be held:
Morning Session: 10 a.m. to noon
Evening Session: 6 to 8 p.m.
This event marks an important step in the Village’s ongoing redevelopment project, which began in August 2022. The Village has been collaborating with local taxing bodies and community partners to develop a concept plan that aligns with the community’s vision for growth.
As part of this process, architectural design guidelines are being created to preserve the charm and character of downtown while accommodating future growth. The Village is also working closely with the Manhattan Township Historical Society to ensure historical preservation.
Village Administrator Jeff Wold emphasized the importance of community input.
“The Mayor and Trustees value your input and are excited to have the stakeholders be part of the conversation to help us craft a downtown that blends tradition with progress.”

Farnsworth Group will be present at the event to answer questions and listen to feedback. This is an important opportunity for community members to share their thoughts and help shape the future of downtown Manhattan.
