Corn and Soybean Growers Annual Meeting Feb. 17

The annual dinner meeting of the Will County Corn and Soybean Associations will be held on Monday, Feb. 17, at the Will County Farm Bureau, 100 Manhattan Road, Joliet.
Doors open at 5 p.m.; the program will kick off at 5:30, with guest speaker Britt O’Connell, who will be providing a market outlook for 2025 and an economic review. Britt is back by popular demand, and the meal will follow around 6:30 p.m.
Britt grew up on her family’s dairy farm in southwest Wisconsin, where her love for animals led her to the show ring and an active role in her local 4H and FFA Chapter.
She encourages youth to pursue agriculture pathways and her own passion for agriculture led her to Southwest Wisconsin Technical College where she earned a degree in Ag-Business.
Britt began her working career as an agronomist, working with farmers to maximize in-field performance. She helped identify needs to help producers improve the marketing of their crops. Her work led her to a grain merchandising role with a multi-national grain company.
Her work revealed opportunities to take her efforts to another level and in 2015, she began her work with Commodity Risk Management Group in Platteville, Wisconsin, where she has been providing comprehensive grain marketing plans for Midwestern clients that are part of the Ever Ag Group.
The Foundations plan is unique to the industry in that it brings together all the moving parts found in both the futures market and local cash markets.
Her efforts were quickly rewarded with growth unmatched by other offerings, and she is enjoying a retention rate of 90%, which is a milestone envied anywhere in this business. Today, Britt serves as the director of the program overseeing a team of Grain Marketing Advisors across multiple states.
After the dinner, which is compliments of the Will County Corn and Soybean Growers’ Associations, there will be a short business meeting to elect board members for the upcoming year.
To make your reservations to attend the annual meeting, please call the Farm Bureau office at 815-727-4811 by February 13.
