Philip Moenck Obituary
Philip John Moenck “Phil”, age 84 of Kankakee, passed away on December 27, 2024 at Citadel of Kankakee. Phil is survived by his children Steve (Nicole) Moenck, Shirley Parnau, and Kevin (Christine) Moenck, grandchildren Ashlee Parnau, Rachel Parnau, Logan Moenck, Nathan Moenck, Malory (Brandon) Apke and Freddy Greifzu, siblings Rose Sullivan, Ruby (George) Roemer and Paul (Rita) Moenck, and numerous nieces and nephews. Phil was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Moenck, parents John and Ella Moenck (nee Janssen), and brother-in-law Neil Sullivan.
Phil graduated from Lincoln-Way Central High School. He made a career out of farming across numerous towns throughout his life, namely between Manhattan and Clifton, IL. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150 as well as Teamsters #179. Phil was always a worker bee, especially when it came to farming. He was known to say, “If you like what you do, you can’t call it work.”
Funeral services for Phil Moenck took place on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Frankfort. Interment was held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Richton Park.
