Elwood Police Congratulates Elwood 7th Graders on D.A.R.E. Graduation

The Elwood Police Department is proud to announce the successful graduation of the 7th grade class at Elwood School from the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.
The ceremony was held at Elwood School 409 N. Chicago Ave., on Wednesday, Dec. 18, celebrating the students’ dedication and commitment to making informed, healthy choices.
Throughout the program, the students learned about the importance of making safe and responsible decisions, the dangers of drug abuse, and the value of leading a drug-free lifestyle.
The D.A.R.E. program, taught by School Resource Officer Sean Swabowski and
Officer Sarah Zimmerman, provides students with the skills and knowledge to resist peer.pressure and avoid the perils of drugs, alcohol, and violence.
Chief Fred Hayes of the Elwood Police Department praised the students for their hard work and perseverance.
“We are incredibly proud of the 7th grade class at Elwood School. Their
participation in the D.A.R.E. program is a testament to their commitment to staying safe and making positive life choices. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow into responsible and healthy individuals.”
