Arrest Made in Wenberg Street Homicide

Kendrick Pullen (21, Chicago) was arrested, processed, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for Three Counts of First Degree Murder and One Count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Following a thorough investigation into the October 5, 2024, homicide of Everett Cole in the 800 block of Wenberg Street, Joliet Police Detectives quickly identified Pullen as a suspect.
Pullen was located in a vehicle that was stopped in the evening hours of October 09, 2024, and he was transported to the Joliet Police Department for questioning.
On October 11, 2024, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Pullen for three counts of First Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Pullen was taken into custody and processed at the Joliet Police Department, and he was then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
A motive for this shooting remains under investigation.

(October 5, 2024 – Joliet, Illinois) – On October 5, 2024, at 3:49 p.m., Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Wenberg Street for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, Officers located a 42-year-old male who had sustained multiple gunshots laying near the entrance of the
residence. Officers immediately rendered medical assistance until the arrival of Joliet Fire Department paramedics. The male shooting victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department where he was pronounced deceased.
Additional Officers and Detectives arrived and conducted an extensive canvass of the scene. Spent shell casings were located nearby. No other victims were located and a motive for this shooting is still under investigation.
Detectives continue to actively investigate this shooting at this hour.
