Republican and Democratic party members have chosen respective candidates for Will County Clerk in the November 5 election.

Democrats chose Michelle Stiff, Director of the Workforce Center of Will County, and Republicans announced they have chosen Will County Board Member Annette Parker.

Party leaders had until August 29 to make their selections in time to appear on ballots for the Nov. 5 election.
The short timetable was due to the resignation of Will County Clerk Lauren Staley Ferry, who was hired as the new Joliet City Clerk. Her last day was August 15, following the Will County Board meeting.
Her test leaves a vacant in the office until the new County Clerk is seated in December.
Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant can appointment an interim Clerk, with County Board approval, but has not yet done so.

Annette Parker

Chief Deputy Clerk Charles B. Pelkie will serve as interim clerk.
