Threshermen’s Show a Step Back in Time
The Will County Threshermen’s Association’s show offers a captivating journey into the past, showcasing antique engines, steam engines, tractors, and machinery.
This year’s event will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 18 – 21 WCTA Show Grounds, Spiess Farm, 13831 W. Joliet Road, Manhattan, (Wilton Center). Admission: $8 per Adult, $4 per Child age 2-11 daily (Cash only, no ATM on-site).
Visitors can explore the evolution of equipment and witness the transformation of farming practices. Members and the public are invited to exhibit their antique machinery, participate in tractor pulls, and join the daily Parade of Power.
Fieldwork demonstrations, corn shelling, and threshing will also be featured. This year’s Annual Show will highlight J.I. Case and Single Cylinder Engines, but all makes and models are welcome.
The Will County Threshermen’s Association, founded in 1963 by Ray Kestel, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and honoring America’s agricultural legacy. Their mission is brought to life through the collective efforts of our volunteers, members, and supporters.
The annual show has evolved over the decades, moving to various locations throughout Will County, and continuing to engage the community in celebrating and educating about historical farming practices.
Enjoy daily activities including working steam engines, a steam-powered sawmill, tractor and machinery exhibits, food vendors, a craft and flea market, tractor pulls, kids’ activities, petting zoo, horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, a Civil War living history exhibit, and more.
New this year is the Human Tractor Pull Competition. Fieldwork and tractor pulls are held weather- permitting. The event will proceed rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather or downpour.
