On Saturday, May 25, Trinity Services and STRIDES Therapeutic Riding Center and Farm hosted a Memorial Day Petting Zoo fundraiser in honor of those who served.

All proceeds and donations benefited the local charitable work of the Thomas E. Hartung American Legion Post 1977 and the Woman’s Auxiliary in New Lenox.

Families had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the STRIDES animals, including horses, a
mini cow and mini horse, lambs and goats, pigs, rabbits, a guinea pig, chickens and even a hedgehog.
They also learned about general livestock facts, grooming, care and horseback riding.

Jenna Kaiser, an employee of STRIDES and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary, helped organize the
fundraiser.

“Coming from a military family, serving Veterans and honoring their fallen comrades is a true passion of mine,” Kaiser said. “As a proud member of the New Lenox American Legion Auxiliary, I
am so grateful to Trinity for hosting this event.”

STRIDES is located at 27655 S. Gougar Road in Manhattan. For more information about
horseback riding, birthday parties, camps, and the petting zoo, please contact Laura McLawhorn at (815)
