Joliet Summer Challenge – Explore Local Attractions For a Chance to Win Prizes

This summer, the City of Joliet is excited to announce the Joliet Summer Challenge, a virtual passport program designed to encourage residents and visitors to explore local attractions and events.

Beginning on May 24 through September 2, 2024, participants will have the opportunity to enter to win $50 gift cards to local restaurants by checking in at various locations and events throughout Joliet.

The Joliet Summer Challenge is free to enter and easy to participate in. Simply download the app from JolietSummerChallenge.com and start exploring. Participants can earn check-ins by visiting a wide range of attractions, including:

1. Travel to a galaxy not-so-far away at Joliet Star Wars Day
2. Take a self-guided tour of the historic Old Joliet Prison
3. Learn about the “Road to Rock” at the Illinois Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Route 66
4. Sample some of Joliet’s finest wine at Bishop’s Hill (21+ only)
5. Root for the home team at a Joliet Slammers home game
6. Uncover more history at the Slovenian Women’s Union and Museum
7. Explore “The Jewel” on a tour of the Rialto Square Theatre
8. Attend an event at the iconic Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park & Theatre
9. Appreciate the arts at Laura A. Sprague Art Gallery inside Joliet Junior College
10. Discover our city’s history at the Joliet Area Historical Museum
11. Find a new hobby at the Joliet Public Library (Ottawa St. Branch)
12. Expand your horizons at The Strange & Unusual Gallery

“The Joliet Summer Challenge is a fantastic way for residents and visitors alike to discover all that our city has to offer,” said Christa Desiderio, Joliet’s Deputy City Manager. “We are thrilled to host this exciting opportunity to explore Joliet’s unique attractions and support our local businesses and organizations.”
Heritage Corridor Destinations, the local Destination Marketing Organization promoting Joliet and the counties of the Illinois & Michigan Canal, Route 66, and Starved Rock, is organizing this promotion.
