Earl Veltman, 75, Formerly of Manhattan

Earl Warren Veltman, age 75, born April 11, 1948, passed away in Tampa, Florida, on February 10, surrounded by the prayers of his family and holding the hand of his bride.
Earl was faithfully married to Betty Veltman (Been) for nearly 54 years; beloved father of Brett (Kimberly) Veltman, Chad (Lauren) Veltman, and Beth (James) Conaghan; Fond brother to Lauralee (Wayne) Mangun, late Marilyn (Paul) Westerhof, and late Diane (Ken) Anderson; proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
Earl was born and raised in Roseland, Illinois, until his family moved to Mokena, Illinois, in 1960. He graduated from Lincoln-Way High School in 1966 and met his wife Betty shortly after in 1967. They married in February of 1970 and raised 3 kids in the family home that Earl built in rural Manhattan, Illinois, where they resided for 36 years.
Earl had a successful business as owner/operator of B&E Trucking & Excavating. Earl, sometimes referred to as “Duke” by his trucking colleagues, loved driving his truck and ministering to his colleagues & clients with kindness and honest business practices. He would often patiently talk and pray with clients who needed his time and attention.
Earl and Betty call Jackson Creek Fellowship Church in Monee their church home. Prior, Earl was a founding member of Peace Community Church in Frankfort for 30+ years and faithfully served many years as a deacon or elder.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Jackson Creek Fellowship Church; 25800 S. Center Road, Monee, IL. with a private graveside service.
