THE END OF AN ERA

Farmers Weekly Review designer Chris Russell got this shot of the old Will County Courthouse coming down in the shadow of the new facility in Downtown Joliet. Demolition should be completed next month; the site then will be graded and sodded for a park area until county officials are ready to build a new County Office Building there. The former courthouse was built in 1969 and closed in 2020 when the new, 10-story, $215 million courthouse opened.
