College Scholarships

This spring, Land Use Council 16, which includes the Will-South Cook Soil and Water Conservation District, will be awarding scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00. Applicants are expected to major in the Natural Resource field at any accredited college or accredited higher learning institution.

Students must be high school seniors or graduates (diplomas or GED certificates), must be enrolled or be planning to enroll in a full-time course study at an accredited four-year college or university (in a natural resource field), have a 3.0 grade point average or better (on a 4.0 scale), and permanently reside in Boone, Cook, DeKalb, Lake, McHenry, Will or Winnebago counties.

Applications are available on the SWCD website, www.will-scookswcd.org, or may be picked up at the Will-South Cook Soil and Water Conservation District office, 1201 S. Gougar Road, New Lenox. Information and applications can also be mailed out upon request by calling (815) 462-3106, ext. 3.

Deadline: to be considered, the completed application form must be submitted by February 15, 2024.
