Farmers Weekly Review

Dick Attaway shares this photo taken by his Grandfather Fred Attaway of the barn raising after the Palmer's barn was destroyed in the tornado of 1917. Looks as though the entire neighborhood helped out. The farm was owned by Chester Palmer, whose mother took in his mother and raised her as a foster child. The barn was located at South Briggs Road and West Spangler Road. The barn was destroyed by fire about 15 years ago.
