Welcome Home, Joe!

It took a couple years and a lot of sweat equity, but U.S. Army vet Joe Murdie, above, and his two kids have a new home in Crest Hill, courtesy of Habitat for Humanity and American Legion Post #52 in Romeoville. The project -- called the Ray Holloway House in memory of the late legion member and village clerk -- started two years ago, with Murdie doing a lot of work on it, as required by Habitat. But he also has chipped in on many other Habitat projects in the area. Members of Holloway's family were present for the official opening of the home on June 17, in addition to county and Crest Hill officials.
