Interest Bloomin’ in ‘SeedFest’

More than 1,000 people visited the University of Illinois Extension Service on Manhattan Road February 25 for "SeedFest," sponsored by the Extension, Will County Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists and Master Composters. They lined up for the opportunity to selected from 50,000 seed packets donated from the Midwest Food Bank in Bloomington-Normal, above. The secret to a long, happy life is gardening, as this 99-year-old visitor proved. Below, Master Naturalist Julie Arvia shares info on planting native seeds at the learning pop up station.
